We are a group of local people who got together before the local elections earlier this year.
We found there was an appetite for moving away from the traditional mainstream political parties. We believe that people should have more influence over what goes on in their neighbourhood.
We want to make more of an impact. We have set up a membership framework to create regular income and have clearer lines of communication and accountability.
We believe this approach could make Community Independents a compelling choice for residents seeking a more locally-focused, transparent, and responsive government.
