I have lived in Tynemouth for 24 years. I know the different communities who live here and the concerns we share about traffic, parking, late-night businesses, un-popular planning applications and most recently the closure of our library and no sign of this Labour council opening it again.
Tynemouth is not just a tourist destination it is also a place where many of us live, bring up our children and run our businesses. Tynemouth lacks a community hub. A place where we can come together, hold events, meet other residents and importantly, voice our concerns to our local councillors. Our library can be this place. If you use 1 of your votes to elect me in May I will work hard to make this happen.
I am standing in this 2024 local election as 1 of 12 Community Independents across North Tyneside who believe that it is time for residents voices to be listened to. I promise to invite you all to monthly meetings to hear your views so that we can challenge decisions being made about where we live. I will work with councillors from all other parties in yours and Tynemouth’s interests. But I will be an independent voice, not tied into national party politics. Like many other places in the UK the main political parties are being challenged by Independent councillors. Its time we did this here, in Tynemouth. Please use your postal vote on April 16 th or ballot box vote on May 2nd to elect me as that Independent voice.
