These successes are fantastic but many were either told they were unaffordable, or a waste of money or couldn’t be supported. However, through campaigning and determination the community made them happen. We need a voice at the table in Council to ensure that these successes are maintained and other community campaigns are supported.
We want to see involvement in areas such as planning cycleways, road resurfacing,
infrastructure projects and policy planning for the area. We know councils are strapped for cash but more involvement from the community with a people's budget may help find sustainable and more community focused solutions.
Help us change the way the council works and make it really reflect what residents want. Elect people that truly have a voice for residents not councillors that do what their leadership says.
Let us give residents a voice and make sure that there is more face-to-face consultation, let’s make sure residents get feedback and ensure there is more transparency in local Government.
